Fairplay, CO

Today was a rude awakening for me. I haven't rode hills since Missouri. Today I got 75 miles worth of them as I made my way deeper into the Rockies. The views were breathtaking and well worth each of the climbs I endured. I saw a fox and 6 or 7 elk ran with me for a quarter mile or so. So cool. Tomorrow I tackle Hoosier Pass, the highest elevation on the trail, and then I'm on to Breckenridge where I'll buy some cold weather clothing. Crossing my fingers that I narrowly escape snow and cold weather in the mountains and on my way through Wyoming and Montana.
